This site is being developed as a repository for material, including the transcriptions of source documents, relating to Old Catholicism, its faith, practice and history. It probably would be of little value to catalogue all of the religious groups which have some connection to the ancient Church of the Netherlands. Rather, you will find here, a presentation of its roots in the perennial Catholic Faith as it was received in the Netherlands and the Low Countries through their Apostle, St. Willibrord, and how it came to be estranged from the Papal See of Rome, play a central role in the Old Catholic and National Catholic movements, and provide Apostolicity, give birth to, or otherwise inspire groups of Christians throughout the world, and to the modern day. Many of the descendant Churches of the ancient Catholic Church of the Netherlands and its archepiscopal See of Utrecht, have steadfastly held to the call for a return to authentic and essential Catholicism which was the hallmark of the little Dutch Church at the beginning of its estrangement from Rome. Others have chosen to join, or even forge ahead on modern trends which seem to have little relationship to those original principles. In this age of turmoil both within and without the Church, the materials presented here, from various periods in Church history, find a remarkable resonance. We pray you find them of value, and that their presentation here will serve the Greater Glory of God through our Holy Mother, the Church. |

Those returning to the Old Catholic Information Center will surely notice our complete redesign. The change is not just cosmetic. Behind the design is the installation of a content management system which will facilitate further collaborative development. This also reflects a renewal of our commitment to creating a valuable resource for Old Catholics, our friends, and scholars with an interest in our tradition. |

If you are looking for a venue in which to meet others involved in or with an interest in Old Catholicism, you may join OLDCTH-L , an e-mail based discussion group. For discussion and fellowship online in “real time,” there is an associated IRC discussion, #OldCatholic, available on the Dalnet network of servers. |
